H. Scott Cushing is a published photographer and graphic artist. Many of his designs have been reproduced for the gift industry and sold in national retail stores.
The many incarnations of Scott Cushing run the gamut from student, athlete, hippie, Navy seaman, Scuba enthusiast & traveler, husband, father, friend and artist.
During the course of these incarnations he has lived in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Florida, South Carolina, Westchester and traveled through the Caribbean and Europe.
His love of the beach and ocean took him on long summer rides to Jones Beach on Long Island in NY.
When he married he settled just 10 miles from Jones Beach and over the past 30 years has photographed that beach as well as other areas on Long Island.

I believe I have a unique view of the world and try to portray that through my photography. I believe that in some way, though subtle, I tell the story of my life and times through my art. At times peaceful and serene at others frenetic and disordered. My life has brought me many places and I have met many interesting people all of whom have influenced the eyes through which I view the world and create my work. The solitude of the beach, the Rorschach appearance of the clouds and the vibrant colors of fall on Long Island represent some of the stories and sensations I experience and draw upon for inspiration.
My abstracts are an area in which I use vibrant color and repetition as the major design element. Through the digital process my images are created with ultimate flexibility and intense manipulation.
Something new that will be available shortly will be figurative drawing both realistic and abstract done in pastels and graphite. Originals will be for sale.
